We build many sizes and line weights of fly rods and we take great pride in discussing and recommending a bamboo (or graphite) fly rod for your particular needs.

ART WEILER RODS is well-known for our "Garrison Reproduction" fly rods in lengths of 6 ½ to 8' in line weights 2 to 7.

The Garrison action is "progressive" - that means the rod loads as demand is placed on it.
This action can work in close or far as required. It is an easy loading, precise casting and enjoyable fishing rod.

Additionally, we build Garrison reproduction fly rods in flamed cane and some models in 3 piece (3/2 format) for portability and safety (from theft).

Our "Small Stream" series is specifically designed for fly rod use on creeks, brooks and runs. These rods have been tested for years in this special fishing environment. These rods have stronger tips and faster line speeds.

For a good all-around trout rod for eastern streams (and many other places) we recommend a 7½ - 5 wt line fly rod.

In addition to building new cane rods, ART WEILER RODS can restore older bamboo fly rods, including building new sections, re-setting ferrules, new cork, wrapping and varnishing.

Costs are reasonable and usually range from $100 to $200, of course depending on the level of craft and wrapping details. Also intermediate wraps are done.

ART WEILER RODS builds graphite fly rods. We have a good knowledge of blanks, actions, etc. In addition, we stock many moderate cost blanks and can complete your fly rod in short order. We produce many fly rods in lengths of 6½' to 9' with a variety of handles (We can custom grind most shapes) and reel seats (aluminum, nickel, silver, slide band and up-and-down lock). All our graphite fly rods come with a cloth sack and heavy-duty (air core) plastic travel tube with a screw off cap.

Why buy several store rods until you get one that works for you? Our fishing rod knowledge ranges from creek rods to steelhead. After discussion with you, ART WEILER RODS will build the rod you want the way you want it. Our cost to you is often less than stores ranging from $100 to $250 in most cases.

For years ART WEILER RODS has finished fly and U.L. Spinning rods. We build U.L. Spinning rods in lengths of 4½' to 6' with light lines (2-6 pounds) in one and two-piece.
Our handles (slide band) are glued and ground on the blank for the sensitivity and fit. All spin rods come with a cloth sack and a heavy-duty plastic tube. Prices are $75 to $150 in most cases. We also build bamboo spin rods - 6' 2/1 4-8 pounds@ $250 with sack and tube.

ART WEILER RODS often has finished rods in stock ready to ship. Most Garrison reproduction rods in blonde cane are $845.00 (two tips) plus $25 S/H/I. Three piece (3/2) are $895.00 plus S/H/I. All prices subject to change.

ART WEILER RODS offers a series of beautiful, handmade all tiger maple trout nets. Small and medium classic trout nets (see photos) with brown hand knotted cotton bags. Catch and release elliptical with fine black woven mesh. All nets are stained to enhance the 'tiger' figure and have a lustrous finish. Priced from $125.00 Other styles and sizes are available.

5. THE DELAWARE
a. 8 ½' 3/2 5wt. Blonde cane. A longer but delicate fly rod. Screw-lock seat. This in a newly designed taper. The wraps are honey-tipped brown or all brown.

a. Copied from an original Leonard. 7' 2/2 0 wt. line – line supplied with rod. Tiger maple S/B seat with continued wood cork check (part of reel seat as per original); green wraps (pale) with orange accents.

Leonard Style:

A. 7' 2/2 5 wt. with an up-locking REC seat. A strong tip rod with great potential for small to medium streams. Able to fish dry flies, nymphs and small streamers. Measured from an original and worked on. (4 available)
B. 7 ½' 2/2 ¾ wt (est.). A swelled butt, wonderful summer rod with a fine tip (.062) to protect leaders. (3 available)
C. 8' 3/2 4 wt modeled after a "Tournament". Measured and worked on. Swelled butt and red signature wraps at the handle. A great limestone summer flyrod. (3 available)

Dickerson Style:

I am again building the 761510RB (Ray Bergman) Dickerson @ 7 ½' 3/2 5wt line. Finished in brown tipped black with signature (measuring) wraps on the butt. I will also again have the 8013 @ 8' 2/2 5 wt . Dickerson model in stock. (5 available)

Payne Style:


I've added the 8 ½' 3/2 7wt Payne "Canadian Canoe" reproduction to my line. A wonderful western or light salmon rod. Finished with an up-locking seat. Also I will have available the 102H 8' 2/2 5 wt taper. Finished as Payne with up-locking seat (aluminum with Spanish cedar) The 102H is the stronger Payne, 5wt (2 available)

Granger Style:

The 8' 3/2 5 wt Granger is available again. Wrapped "Victory black and orange jasper or Special (green). Can have an up-locking seat or all nickel silver with mortised tiger maple s/b. Ammonia treated cane. The 7' 2/2 4wt Granger reproduction is also available as well as the 7 ½' 5 wt in 3/2 and 2/2. (4 available)

Garrison Style:

I've developed a new 209 7 ½' 2/2 5 wt ( the perfect East Coast fly rod for trout) which has a stronger swell in the butt giving it a faster action than the typical Garrison. Anglers transitioning from graphite will enjoy this action in this great all-around trout rod. (3 available)

All these fly rods are built in my Pocono Mountain workshop from original tapers that I have worked on. All the blanks are hand-planed from well-cured Demarest cane with the correct node arrangements. Ferrules from CSE (Bailey Woods) are used on all rods.
